CPI Partners, Marco Cattaneo and Andrea Angelelli, have a strong track record and many years of experience in sourcing, structuring, negotiating and monitoring Private EquityM&A and Corporate Finance deals on Italian companies, particularly with respect to Italian Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs).

The Italian market for investments in SMEs is currently very attractive:

  • Market is far less crowded than three-four years ago and the competition in the SMEs segment is very limited
  • Opportunity to catch the cycle
  • Lack of acquisition financing is reducing multiples

Italian SMEs are profitable companies with significant know-how and growth potential strongly limited by the credit crunch currently ongoing in the Eurozone.

In 2015 CPI arranged a new investment vehicle operating in the italian illiquid assets market.

The new venture (structured as Special Purpose Vehicle ex art 130 under the Italian Law) will invest up to Euro 100 Millions in Tax Credit Assets from Italian companies (IVA, IRES, IRAP credits).

CPI acted on behalf of one of the most important international AAM (Alternative Asset Managers) and selected the business and the operating managers.

The SPV invested in 2015 more than 20 Euro Millions and the goal for 2016 is to invest additional 30 Euro Millions.

CPI still acts as Monitoring and Structuring Agent for the SPV.
